Jotron EPIRB

EPIRB

In an emergency situation, e.g. sinking, the EPIRB will be automatically released from it’s bracket when subjected to water pressure at 2-4 metres depth, and then float up to the surface. The EPIRB will be activated and immediately start to transmit vessel identity and positioning signals to the SARSAT/COSPAS satellites. The EPIRB can also be taken out of the bracket and manually activated by breaking the seal and pulling out the safety pin. The satellite forwards the signal to a ground receiving station (LUT) where the position will be calculated and transferred to a Mission Control Centre (MCC). The necessary commands will be sent to the right Rescue Control Centre (RCC) which co-ordinate the rescue operation.

JOTRON SART

SART

A SART works on 9 GHz and is designed for use in search and rescue operations. A SART gives the exact location indicated on ship, SAR aircraft and helicopter radar displays. The SART is carried to the liferaft after abandoning ship, when activated it "listens" for RADAR signals, when one is detected it sends back a signal to that RADAR, the characteristic display is used to home in on the signal by indicating distance and direction to the SART.

Day and Night Flare

Day & Night Signal

The Pains Wessex Day® & Night Signal is a very compact combined flare and smoke signal for day or night use. A very compact personal survival signal incorporating a red flare at one end (for use at night), and a dense orange smoke at the other (for day-light). The flare end is ribbed to aid identification at night, and both ends are fully waterproof with 'O' ring seals. Either end can be fired independently and the signal can be doused in water after firing, allowing the unused end to be stowed until required. The signal is waterproof to 30m or to 100m using the specially designed Dive Canister.

PLB Fast Find

Personal Locator Beacon - Fast Find / Fast Find Plus

The Fastfind Plus is a revolutionary hand-held Personal Locator Beacon that features a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver combined with a 406 MHz transmitter and 121.5 MHz homing signal. It is ideal for alerting the rescue services of an emergency during maritime, light aircraft and outdoor pursuits (where licensing allows).

The Fastfind Standard 406 MHz Personal Locator Beacon has all the features of the Fastfind Plus but without GPS. The 406 MHz frequency provides an alert signal to the rescue services within 90 minutes, depending on satellite passes, and gives a positional accuracy to within 3 nm. Once in the vicinity the 121.5 MHz transmitter provides a signal for the rescue services to home-in on.
